TAVERN SIGN WITH PINEAPPLE.

Last half of the 19th Century, CA. Relief carved tavern/inn sign, found in CA., Cedar, deeply carved with scrolled surround, central motif of stylized pineapple (symbol of hospitality), in “goblet” form with leafage emanating from “stem”. Having overall painted and guilt surface with small amount of wear leaving a wonderful patina. SIZE: 29″ x 22-1/2″. CONDITION: Excellent untouched condition, original paint with minor wear from indoor display/use. 9-96397 (1,500-3,500) – Lot 2262
