AMERICAN OVAL TOP TAVERN TABLE IN GREEN PAINT.

New England. Oval pine top with rounded edge projecting above rectangular maple base with scalloped frieze raised on swelled blocked and ring-turned cylindrical tapered legs terminating in round disc feet. SIZE: 26″ h x 31-1/2″ l x 26″ w. CONDITION: Scrubbed top joined to base with rosehead nails which are probably later replacements to original wooden pegs. Repairs of two seam and shrinkage splits now stabilized. Underside of tabletop shows traces of original black paint which is not evident in table base, which in turn shows varying levels of green. This observation would cast doubt on the top being original to the base. One leg appears not to be original to this table. Otherwise structurally good. 50990-1 (2,000-3,000) – Lot 2249
