NEW YORK HEPPLEWHITE SERPENTINE SIDEBOARD.

Last quarter 18th century, New York. Having rectangular top with bold serpentine front, bead inlay corners above a conforming front with an inward curving door on the left, an outwardly bowed wide drawer in the middle above two inset doors and two inwardly curving doors on the right. Drawers and doors having banded frames with patera inlaid corners. The tapering legs conforming to the angles of the cabinet having step banding near base. SIZE: 38-1/2″ H, 68″ L, 29″ D PROVENANCE: Descended through Damon Family (NJ/MA) as follows: Samuel Foster Damon (1828-1872), Washington St., Newton, MA; Harry E. Damon Sr. (1866-1941) Short Hills, NJ; Harry E. Damon Jr. (1908-1980), Winchester, MA; to Mary Anne Damon Jackson (1933-) Hingham, MA. CONDITION: Very good, appears to retain original finish and hardware. One minor veneer repair on edge of top, very minor losses to banding.
