ATTRIBUTED TO ZEDEKIAH BELKNAP (American, 1781-1858)) PORTRAIT OF A SEATED WOMAN IN GRAY DRESS.

Oil on pine panel depicts a half length portrait of an elegantly dressed woman in double breasted green, puffy sleeved dress with detailed lace collar, tortoise shell comb in her hair. She is well adorned with jewelry and her arm is leaning against a chair back having a chest with drawer beside her. Housed in what appears to be its original pine gesso & gilt decorated deep molded frame. SIZE: 28″ x 23-1/2″. Overall: 34″ x 30″ CONDITION: Portrait has surface grime with gold paint along left edge and surface scratches with losses. Original gilt is missing from frame. 9-96387 (1,000-2,000) – Lot 2242
