MASSACHUSETTS SHERATON SEWING STAND WITH BOWED SIDES.

Early 19th century. Massachusetts. Rare form in mahogany, having 4 bowed out sides and cookie corner top above aprons fitted with birds-eye maple panels having 2 birds-eye maple faced drawers, the top drawer fitted with flip up writing panel and compartments for pens and ink wells, the 2nd fitted with 6 dividers, having a rounded bent wood pocket for fabric scraps that pulls out from the right end, on 4 legs with disc turned tops and carved tapering reeded legs. SIZE: 19-1/2″ x 16″ x 29″ t. CONDITION: Very good, with nice old refinish, evidence of quality restoration to drawer lips and drying crack fill in top, replaced brasses. 9-96515 (6,000-9,000) – Lot 2231
