*WESTLEY RICHARDS .416 RIGBY MAGNUM MAUSER BIG GAME RIFLE WITH SWAROVSKI SCOPE.

SN 43504. (2001) Cal. .416 Rigby. 25″ Tapered round bbl fitted with matted quarter rib, sleeved-on sling eye, and Westley Richards patented front sight base with flip-over sight protector, is sighted with one standing, two folding leaf express rear sight with gold triangle and lines, marked for 50, 100, and 150 yards, as well as a gold bead front sight with flip-up porcelain moon bead. Top of bbl is engraved “Westley Richards. England.” Left rear is stamped with year 2000 Birmingham nitro proofs. New production, most likely by Johannson, magnum length double square solid sidewall Mauser action, is marked with Westley Richards and SN on left side of receiver ring, and “CAL.416 RIGBY.” “REG.410 GRN. BULLET”. Action is fitted with Westley Richards claw type scope mounts, Recknagel trigger, and Model 70 type safety (SAFE gold inlaid), Bolt shroud is case hardened in color. Pear-shaped bolt knob has three checkered round panels. Drop box bottom metal has large hinged floorplate, specially designed for .416 Rigby cartridges, which is held by typical push button latch on trigger guard bow. Bottom of floorplate is engraved “3 CARTRIDGES”. SN is gold inlaid on trigger guard bow. Classically styled, beautifully marbled and nicely figured European walnut stock measures 14″ over thin Silver type pad and features right hand shadow line cheekpiece, horn forend tip, case hardened steel grip cap with trap, recoil bolt, classic point pattern checkering with mullered borders at grip and forend, as well as a sling eye and gold oval engraved “Boyd” on toe line. Swarovski Habicht 1.25 – 4 x 24 scope with three post and crosshair reticle is in Westley Richards mounts, which are engraved with makers name and SN on tops of rings. Scope includes storm cover. Drop at heel: approx 2-1/2″, drop at comb: approx 1-3/4″. Weight without scope: 10 lbs 8 oz. LOP: 14″. CONDITION: Excellent, showing limited use, as might be expected from two or three safaris. Metal parts show high edge wear, with one small spot silvered on floorplate. Stock has a number of light scratches and marks in its orig finish, mostly on left side of butt. Bore is excellent.
