MASSACHUSETTS SHERATON MAHOGANY CARD TABLE.

Early 19th century, Salem, MA. The serpentine top with notched turret corners, Scrolling aprons having crotch mahogany veneer. Front legs featuring acanthus leaf carved capitol and decoration with bold tapering reeded legs, back legs similar without the carving. The hinged top supported by a swing out back leg. Top with triple reeding. Tables of this form and with similar carving are usually attributed to Samuel McIntire, well known Salem, MA, architect and craftsman. SIZE: Top 39″ x 19-1/4″. 30″ h.
