CHERRY CHIPPENDALE SLANT-FRONT SECRETARY.

New England, second half of 18th century. The upper section with outward sweeping crown molding above two double panel doors, the upper panels in each door being figured wood. The interior fitted with three original adjustable shelves. The lower section with a drop front with pull out supports, having a tiger maple interior with center door revealing two drawers and compartments. Flanked by a pair of tall document drawers with three drawers and four pigeon holes on each side. All above four graduated cock beaded drawers with brass hardware, with a scrolling bracket base. Yellow pine secondary wood. The back of the upper section quartered and with raised panels. Sides of lower case are tiger maple. SIZE: 83″ h x 41-1/2″ w x 22″ d.
