REMINGTON VEST POCKET PISTOL A.K.A. “SAW HANDLE DERINGER”.

SN 2179. Cal. 32RF. 4″ bbl. Blue and silver finish. 2-pc rosewood grips. Top flat of bbl breech shows 2-line Remington address and patent mark. SN is stamped on the left inside of the grip frame and written in pencil on the inside of each grip. PROVENANCE: Bruce Burtner Collection. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl shows a smooth blue gray patina overall with some traces of blue in protected areas. Marking is sharp and bore is bright with strong rifling and some stains. Frame retains generous traces of silver plate in protected areas. Hammer and breechblock show a generous amount of bright blue finish. Trigger is a silver gray patina. Grips are very good with only minuscule scratches and dents and some slight varnish loss. Only 300-500 of these were produced in 32 cal. Circa 1865-1888. 51641-1 TEP (1,000-1,500) – Lot 2217
