18th century, probably Eastern Europe. The small iron bound box with side carrying handles, decorative rosettes and rivets. The lid opening to reveal an ornate and decorated locking mechanism affixed to lid interior. The interior of strong box fitted with small lidded till the whole in old green and black paint. Lock retains original key and is functional. SIZE: 5-3/4″ t x 12″ w x 6″ d. CONDITION: Lock functional as noted. The strong box with overall abrasions, minor denting, paint loss and minor corrosion commensurate with age and in use wear. Good overall. 51348-25 (800-1,200) – Lot 2211
