MAJORELLE ART NOUVEAU DRESSING TABLE.

Circa 1900, Louis Majorelle, France. Mirrorplate within a shaped frame tilting on molded supports terminating in flower heads, additionally fitted with candle shelves on stylized foliate supports joined to rectangular work surface, fitted with a single bowfront frieze drawer, all joined to X-form supports above a C-scroll base. Note: A similar example illustrated in Louis Majorelle Master of Art Nouveau Design by Alastair Duncan, published by Harry N. Abrams, Inc., NY, 1991, see page 99. SIZE: 49-1/2″ h x 28″ w x 18-3/4″ d overall. CONDITION: French polished surface. Old lateral shrinkage crack front third of top surface, now filled, toned and stabilized. Some additional very minor coloration to tight shrinkage cracks at front of top surface. Otherwise very good. 50429-88 (5,000-7,000) – Lot 2210
