FINE AND RARE MAJORELLE ART NOUVEAU MARQUETRY DISPLAY CABINET.

Circa 1900, Louis Majorelle, Nancy, France. The rectangular cabinet with central floral marquetry panel door opening to an interior fitted with two plate glass shelves flanked by three shaped molded rosewood fixed shelves. The back case panel with marquetry landscape signed “L. Majorelle Nancy” in the lower right facing corner of the panel. The cabinet with floral vinery in deep relief on the frontal supports, the apron similarly carved and all raised on short cabriole legs terminating in sabots. Note: The identical etagere illustrated in Louis Majorelle Master of Art Nouveau Design by Alastair Duncan, 1991, see page 61, figure 25. SIZE: 68″ h x 32-1/2″ w x 15/1/2″ d.
