EXCEPTIONAL INDIAN CHIEF WEATHERVANE.

American, circa 1900. Molded copper. Probably by J.L. Mott Iron Works, New York and Chicago. With an elaborate feathered headdress, leather tunic and quiver of arrows this full bodied figure stands astride an oversized directional arrow. Reference 1892 J.L. Mott catalog, pg 56, Plate 130-Q for an artist’s rendering of a very similar figure. Mounted on a museum stand. SIZE: 38″ h x 51″ l. PROVENANCE: From a private Midwest collection.
