GALLE “MAGNOLIA” ART NOUVEAU MARQUETRY PEDESTAL.

Circa 1900, Emile Galle, France. This marquetry two tier pedestal signed “Galle” in the lower right front corner facing. The square top with outset corners and molded edges, the lower shelf of cloverleaf form joined by tapering reeded tree form legs, each fitted with a buttress tapering to molded sabots. Note: An identical pedestal illustrated in Galle Furniture by Alastair Duncan and Georges de Bartha published by the Antique Collector’s Club, 2012, page 244, plate 3. SIZE: 43″ h x 23-1/2″ square. CONDITION: The top with minor cosmetic repairs primarily to small minute shrinkage cracks. Otherwise generally good. 50429-106 (2,000-4,000) – Lot 2204
