SILAS HOADLEY PINE TALL CASE CLOCK.

The pine case with arched cornice, alternating with a central eagle finial flanked by urn and spire finials above a molded cornice over an astragal arched door flanked by free standing colonettes. The conforming wood dial gilt and paint-decorated in the arch with a classical urn amidst flower heads. The Roman numeral chapter ring within gilt and painted spandrels containing a subsidiary seconds dial and calendar dial around which is painted “S. HOADLEY PLYMOUTH.” The wooden works of oak, birch, maple and walnut driven by two canister weights, chiming on a bell. The pine waisted case with engaged quarter columns with brass capitals and bases centering a rectangular door with thumb molded edges on a high molded box base terminating in tapered French feet. SIZE: 85-1/2″ h x 14″ w x 10″ d (overall). CONDITION: The case is natural wood. The movement and face are in very good condition. 9-94526 (1,750-2,750) – Lot 2201a
