We have recently received correspondence from David Sperling, an authority on regional tall case clocks. According to his article in Maine Antique Digest, Sept. 15, 2013, titled “The Hunterdon County Clock Case and the Enigmatic John Guild” has determined that Hunterdon County Clock cases are characterized by the inverted bell shaped top of the case door. We would therefore attribute the clock as possibly by John Guild.”
