NEW YORK ENGRAVED REMINGTON-ELLIOT DERINGER NO. 1 PISTOL WITH GOLD AND SILVER FINISH.

SN 10189. Cal. 22RF. 3-3/16″ bbl group. Silver and gold finish. 2-pc Mother of Pearl grips. Top of bbl shows 2-line Remington address and Elliot patent mark. SN is stamped on the inside of frame and on the bottom of the bbl cluster. Pistol is engraved in the New York style with vine scroll work running down each side of the bbl cluster with walking punch decoration in the flutes. Breech of bbl shows a splay decoration on the top. Recoil shield also shows splay decoration. Frame has vine decoration with fine punch dot background. Backstrap shows intertwining line decoration and a central star motif. Butt also shows intertwining line decoration. PROVENANCE: Bruce Burtner Collection. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl cluster is a smooth silver gray patina overall with traces of silver in protected areas. Bbl marking is sharp as is the engraving. Bores are bright with strong rifling and some slight staining. Frame is a silver gray patina overall and retains generous traces of gold wash in protected areas. Engraving is sharp and unmolested. Ring trigger is a silver gray patina. Mother of Pearl grips are very good with slight losses at the forward end of each grip.
