19th century, England. The rectangular case with sloping hinged lid above a short drawer flanked by lopers over three long drawers on a molded base raised on bracket feet with scalloped returns. The interior fitted with a central prospect door, flanked by valanced pigeonholes over four short drawers. The lid chinoiserie decorated with a landscape with pavilions. The desk sides decorated with floral shrubs, the drawer fronts with conforming landscape views. SIZE: 39″ h x 24″ w of case x 17-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Structurally good and intact. Japanned surfaces dry with light soiling and with losses to some raised decorative areas, and with wear to paint decorated and gilt surfaces commensurate with age.
