PAIR OF FINE INLAID MAHOGANY HEPPLEWHITE CUTLERY BOXES.

First quarter 19th century, probably England. Each hinged shaped sloping lid with oval shell inlay and well figured mahogany with contrasting “V” formed striped inlay, fitted with a frontal ring handle opening to a fully fitted interior with conforming string inlays. The lid interior with six pointed star. The conforming case on thin molded base. SIZE: 15″ t x 9″ w x 11″ d. CONDITION: Structurally very good, veneers stable with re-polished shellac surface, one lid with very minor surface abrasion. 51348-36 (1,500-2,500) – Lot 2178
