Royal Vienna charger is decorated with a central square painting of classical figures of 3 men and a woman inspecting the inscription on a stone tomb with outlines of castles in the background. Painting is framed with a gilded border which is in turn surrounded by gilded scrolls, leaves and stylized flowers. Charger is marked on the underside with a blue beehive mark and signed in red “Wien Die Shafer von Arcadien”. SIZE: 11-1’2″ dia.
