VERY EARLY COLT CALIBER 44 SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER.

SN 46750. Cal 44 WCF (44-40). Usual configuration with bbl cut to 5-1/8″ relocated front sight and 1-line block letter address. Left side of frame has 3-line patent dates with caliber marking on left rear web of trigger guard. Bottom of bbl is marked with a tiny “44” just forward of the frame and last 4 digits of matching serial number are under the ejector housing. Mounted with old, possibly replacement checkered 1-pc walnut grip. Hammer spring is a replacement. Ejector housing is third type with half moon ejector rod head. CONDITION: Fair. No orig finish remains being an overall cleaned gray metal patina with scattered fine pitting. Grips are sound showing heavy wear. Hammer has no safety notch, otherwise mechanics are fine.
