*FINE 28 BORE ABBIATICO & SALVINELLI JOREMA SIDELOCK OVER-UNDER GAME GUN WITH CASE.

SN 708. Cal. 28 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. This finely crafted gun by this renowned firm, has 26″ demi-bloc bbls fitted with flat, matted, ventilated rib. “Abbiatico & Salvinelli” is inlaid in gold on top left. Bbl flats are stamped with 1988 Italian nitro proofs for 28 ga. and with SN and “MADE IN ITALY”. Small, low profile, coin finished, OU action is fitted with pinless sidelocks, and features non-automatic safety and sgl non-selective trigger. Action is engraved along sides of beads onto top fence and continuing to top lever and top tang, with very well cut, open, attenuated acanthus and ribbons with dark shaded background. Remainder of action and lockplates are plain finished with borders gold wire inlaid. Hinge pin pivot is gold wire inlaid, with more flush gold light scroll at central portion of each lockplate. Makers name is gold inlaid in script at the bottom of each plate. Relief scroll is also on front portion of trigger plate, and on single beaded trigger guard, where it appears on bow and on tang. SN is gold inlaid at rear of tang. This very pleasing engraving and gold design is signed by two different engravers on trigger plate. Strikingly fiddle figured and nicely marbled European walnut round knob pistol grip buttstock measures 14-5/8″ over russet leather covered pad. Stock features drop points, and very well cut point pattern checkering with mullered borders at grip. Matching slim one piece forend has interesting Anson type release, actuated by sliding a relief cast A&S crest/ button at central portion, instead of having button at tip. Bore diameter: top -.551, bottom -.551. Bore restrictions: top -.017 (full), bottom -.007 (IC). Drop at heel: 2-3/4″, drop at comb: 1-9/16″. Weight: 5 lbs 15 oz. LOP: 14-5/8″. Fine quality leather case with stitched leather corners is lined in scarlet velvet, and has brown leather A&S label stitched into lid. Case contains pair of snap caps, striker bottle with spare strikers, and an A&S marked round oil bottle. CONDITION: Excellent, near to new, with some very light evidence of having been fired since proof, with a few handling and assembly marks on bbls, and light scratches and marks, mostly on bottom of buttstock. Mechanically crisp. Case leather has some light scuffs. Interior lightly soiled, with some compressions and rubs. A nicely appointed lightweight gun. 49417-28 MGM362 (18,000-28,000) – Lot 2148
