COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER WITH COLORADO HISTORY.

SN 42903. Cal 45 Colt. Nickel finish with 7-1/2″ bbl, full front sight and 1-line block letter address. Left side of frame has 3-line patent dates and caliber marking on the left shoulder of trigger guard. Mounted with varnished 1-pc walnut grip with last 4 digits of matching serial number in backstrap channel. Ejector housing is first type with bullseye ejector rod head. Accompanied by a Colt Factory letter which identifies this revolver in caliber 45. Type of stocks & bbl length not listed, blue finish and shipped to John P. Lower, Denver, CO on November 5, 1879 in a 50 gun shipment. J.P. Lower was the major supplier to the Rocky Mountain region for many years in the late 19th century and one of Colt’s major suppliers. CONDITION: Very fine, all matching including bbl, cylinder & grip. Overall retains about 95% of a fine factory-style nickel finish. Grip is sound showing edge wear and a few chips and retains about 75-80% orig varnish. Hand is balky, probably a weak spring otherwise mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore.
