FIGURED MAHOGANY CHIPPENDALE BOWFRONT FOUR DRAWER CHEST.

Circa 1780, Boston. Made of highly figured dense Santo Domingo mahogany. Sides and top appear to be single boards. Drawer fronts are nicely bowed and veneered with highly figured mahogany with cockbeaded edges. Secondary wood is white pine, brasses appear to be original including side handles. The ogee feet are particularly tall, bold, and intact. SIZE: 33-1/4″ h x 38-3/4″ w x 19″ d. CONDITION: Loss or replacement to some glue blocks in base, old replacement to one rear brace, feet are in remarkable condition with only one crack and some re-fastening with glue, screws and nails, one top drawer with partially rebuilt side, otherwise very good condition with old surface and great color. 51348-7 (5,000-7,000) – Lot 2130
