FINE FEDERAL GILT WOOD AND GESSO CONVEX MIRROR.

First quarter 19th century, probably American. The round convex mirror plate within a reeded ebony slip within a deep molded frame lined with spherules and molded guilloche gilt border flanked by single candle arms with cast brass candle cups. The crest with well detailed displayed eagle perched on rockwork, a chain of spherules suspended from its beak and joined to scrolling carved leaf tips to left and right. The base applied with gilt wood carved leaf tip pendant. SIZE: 48″ t x 30″ w. CONDITION: Very good overall, with original mirror plate, and with small areas of professional restoration to leaf tips with some re-gilding. 51348-1 (3,000-5,000) – Lot 2117
