RARE SET OF FOUR MINIATURE CHINESE EXPORT WATERCOLORS.

Mid 19th century. The small watercolors on Pith paper. The four are housed in pairs in matching modern frames with mats. The first pair include an image looking across Hong Kong harbor filled with western ships at anchor, below which a watercolor depicting the factories of Canton with the American flag off building in center. The second pair have the top example depicting Boca Tigris with several junks and an island in the distance with a fort on top, the watercolor below depicts Macao with winding shore lined with buildings. SIZE: Sight size of each 2-1/4″ x 3-1/4″. Overall 7″ x 5-1/2″. PROVENANCE: From a Maine/Texas estate being sold unreserved.
