SN 15114. Cal. 12 ga and 20 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 26″ Demi-bloc bbls with matted, ventilated ribs, are each marked “A. Jos. Defourny Herstal Siemens Martin Nitro Steel IMPERIAL CROWN GRADE” and “Made in Belgium For CONTINENTAL ARMS CORPORATION. N.Y” on left sides of top bbls. Breech sections are near fully engraved with oak leaves. “20” or “12” are gold inlaid on rear portions. Bottoms of bbls and bbl flats are stamped with Belgian nitro proofs for 2-3/4″ chambers. Each bbl set has its own ejector forend stamped “12” or “20” on interior of iron. Coin finished OU sideplated boxlock action features double Kersten type bolt, non-automatic safety (SAFE gold inlaid) and single selective trigger with selector behind trigger blade. Action is engraved with near full coverage large open shaded scroll, and oak leaves on fence. This well cut scroll is background for scenes of game and dogs; bottom of action engraved with a trio of flushing ducks. Left lockplate portrays a setter on point, with a pointer honoring point. A pair of pheasant are at bottom. The same pair of dogs watching a pair of ducks flush is on the right. Male grouse is displaying on a branch with interested female in foreground on trigger guard bow. Tang is engraved with SN. A crown is gold inlaid on top lever. Somewhat streaked and lightly fiddle figured European walnut steel capped pistol grip buttstock measures 13-3/4″ over checkered and engraved steel buttplate. Fancy pattern borderless checkering is at grip. A silver shield engraved “CB” is on toe line. Matching 3-pc ejector forends have Deeley releases. 20 ga. BBL set: Bore diameter: top -.627, bottom -.627. Bore restrictions: top -.010 (Lt mod), bottom -.006 (IC). Wall thickness: top -.024, bottom -.026. Drop at heel: 2-3/4″, drop at comb: 1-3/4″. Weight: 6 lbs 14 oz. LOP: 13-3/4″. 12 ga. BBL set: Bore diameter: top -.723, bottom -.722. Bore restrictions: top -.010 (Lt mod), bottom -.007 (IC). Wall thickness: top -.032, bottom -.029. Drop at heel: 2-11/16″, drop at comb: 1-3/4″. Weight: 6 lbs 14 oz. LOP: 13-3/4″. Abercrombie & Fitch marked brown leather case with stitched leather corners is embossed “C. B” on top. Case is lined in burgundy cloth, and has space for action and both sets of bbls, and contains a pair of A&F marked 20 bore snap caps, and another pair of snap caps (aluminum for 12 ga). Bbls retain over 90% of what appears to be their orig blue, most loss due to silvering on sharp edges, and some scattered light marks. Action retains essentially all of its orig coin finish with some areas of darkening and a small area of stains on left lockplate. Stocks retain nearly all of what appears to be their orig rubbed oil finish with some light marks and area dulled from slip-on rubber pad. Checkering is lightly worn. Bores are excellent. Action is tight with both sets of bbls. Ejectors are slightly out of time. Trigger works. Case leather is fine, still light in color, with numerous scuffs and rubs, mostly on edges. Five corners and handle have detached and are missing. One corner is in case. Straps are good. Interior cloth is fine with rubs and soiling. Partitions are solid.
