*FINELY ENGRAVED FN BROWNING SIDEPLATED SUPERPOSED THREE BARREL SMALL GAUGE SET WITH CASE.

SN 53912V9. Cal. 20 ga/ 28 ga/ .410. This nicely appointed gun has three bbl sets, all of which are 30″ with narrow ventilated ribs, and are engraved “FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL” on top lefts, and with calibers on top rights. Each set has its own 3-pc forend with removable bottom section. 20 ga. bbl set is marked for IC and Mod; 28 ga and .410 bbl sets are not marked for choke. Coin finished superposed action has been nicely filed with flutes extending from top of fence into bbl bolsters, and continuing around bottom of action forming beads. False sideplates have been fitted. Action is engraved with 60 – 70% coverage small scroll, as background to large sprays of exceptionally well cut and shaded acanthus with floral highlights. A well rendered flying woodcock weaves through branches on bottom. Sideplates with matching scroll and acanthus have very fine Bulino game scenes with a pair of pheasant flying over barbed wire fence into open field on left plate, and a covey of chukar partridge flush from brush lands on right. Engravers signature “A. Gabriel” is on trigger plate. Exhibition quality, beautifully marbled and fiddle figured European walnut swan-necked buttstock measures 15″ over checkered wood butt. Fluted drop points are behind lockplates, and grip is nicely checkered in point pattern with closely spaced diamonds. Matching 3-pc forends with removable bottoms have schnabeled tips in superlight style. 20 ga BBLS: Bore diameter: top -.622, bottom -.623. Bore restrictions: top -.017 (mod), bottom -.016 (mod). Drop at heel: 2″, drop at comb: 1-7/16″. Weight: 6 lbs 15 oz. LOP: 15″. .410 BBLS: Bore diameter at muzzles: top -.390, bottom -.387. Drop at heel: 2-1/16″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Weight: 7 lbs 4 oz. LOP: 15″. Good quality leather case with stitched leather corners is lined in burgundy cloth and has space for action and all three sets of bbls. CONDITION: Essentially, as new, retaining all of its best quality finishes on wood and metal, with only one or two of the lightest of handling and assembly marks. Mechanically crisp.
