LEAPING STAG WEATHERVANE.

First half 20th century, American. Probably Washburne. Sometimes attributed to J.W. Fiske (ref: J.W. Fiske 1893 catalog), or the Washburne Co., (ref: “Weathervanes”, by Charles Klamkin, p 152). Featuring a well detailed leaping deer, with cast zinc head and delicate antlers, attached to a molded copper body with elaborate detail. Offered with museum stand. SIZE: 29″ l. x 21-1/2″ t. CONDITION: Very good, surface re-gilt but with weathering and traces of older surface, slight compression near back leg on one side. 9-96213 (5,000-6,000) – Lot 2023
