SILVER COMMUNION CUP WITH COVER. Hand hammered cup has cast acanthus decorated pierced cup receptacle with grape decorated stem attaching to hand raised, rose and leaf repousse decorated domed circular base. Cup has circular cover engraved “J M S” surmounted by a cross over a heart within a punch decorated circle. No hallmarks found. SIZE: 10″ high. Base is 6″ in diameter. Top of cup is 4″. Cover is 5-1/4″ diameter. 20 oz. 14.17 dwt. PROVENANCE: From a fine Kentucky Estate. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Stem somewhat askew. 9-92283 (1,000-2,000)
