WINCHESTER DELUXE SPECIAL ORDER MODEL 1886 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 40-82. Special order rifle with 28″ oct. bbl, full magazine, case colored receiver, single set trigger and about 3X checkered wood with pistol grip stock and crescent steel buttplate. The bbl is fitted with a Sheard brass bead front sight and a musket rear sight. Removing the musket rear sight reveals no indication of a dovetail. SN 62754. CONDITION: About very good. The bbl retains 88-90% strong original blue with scattered light surface spotting and a couple of light scratches. The magazine tube is a silver-blue patina. The receiver is mottled silver and faded case colors with some light surface discoloration. Wood is sound and retains about 80% original varnish with the forearm and wrist being dark and oil stained. Bore is strong and bright with some light orange peel look. 4-46602 JR9 (5,000-10,000)
