WINCHESTER 2ND MODEL 1876 SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 45-60. Standard carbine with full-length forearm, saddle ring attached to the left side of the receiver, screwed on dust cover rail and reverse mounted ladder bbl sight. It has a 22″ round bbl with carbine butt and smooth steel buttplate. Accompanied by a Winchester Museum letter identifying this carbine and indicating shipment in Sept. 1881. SN 15719. CONDITION: Good to very good, metal retains a mostly silver patina with mottled brown and traces of original finish in the sheltered areas. Stock is sound and forearm has a repaired crack at the tip, with an amateur refinish having been sanded below the metal. Mechanics are fine.
