WINCHESTER MODEL 1866 SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 44RF. Standard carbine with 20″ round bbl, full magazine, early 2-position rear sight, uncheckered wood, straight stock with blued steel buttplate with trap containing a 3-pc brass and iron wiping rod. Lower tang has been stamped “L. WILCOX”. SN 96658. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl and magazine tube retain most of an old refinish, as does the forearm. The buttstock, probably a replacement, retains generous amounts of original finish with light handling and use marks. Receiver, polished a long time ago is now a medium mustard patina. Bright shiny bore with a ring near the muzzle. 4-46597 JR204 (2,000-3,000)
