*FUNKY LEFAUCHEAUX EXPERIMENTAL TAKE DOWN SHOTGUN.

SN NSN. 12 ga. 26-3/4″ fluid steel bbls, steel center rib, steel front bead sight. Top of frame marked “MON LEFAUCHEAUX 37 RUE VIVIENNE PARIS”. Double triggers, straight grip stock, checkered in 2-pt pattern with 13-3/4″ LOP over checkered butt. Forearms are similar to what you might find on a side opening shotgun of this era. Left side of receiver with thumb push, stock release when depressed stock can be turned and removed. Chambers are opened by two blued levers on right side of gun. Loading gates are beautifully case colored. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Robert Burg. CONDITION: Very good as partially refurbished. Mono-blocked bbls (as originally constructed) retain 85-90% orig blued finish with some light cold blue added at receiver. Loading gates appear to retain most of their older restored case color with scattered light pitting and scratches, particularly on bottom gate. Frame and forend are very good with light handling marks and retain most of their orig finish. The wood underneath the trigger guard appears to be an older replacement and there is a small chip on the top right side that has been repaired. Bores are excellent. Buttstock is slightly loose. Easily one of the most unusual experimental guns this cataloger has ever seen. 49503-72 JSL243 (500-800) – Lot 1717
