PAIR OF EARLY TURKISH SADDLE HOLSTERS AND DOCUMENT ROLL. A wonderful pair of mid-19th century Turkish saddle holsters for flintlock or percussion single shot pistols. Accompanied by a small document case which was affixed to the rear of the saddle. Saddle holsters measure 13″ h overall and are substantially made of heavy brown sewn leather each with an iron “L” bar attachment device. Throat of the holsters is topped with a heavy cast brass rim, decorated with two floral bands and affixed with brass rivets. Tips are equally as heavy, of cast brass with similar decoration. The out flap is of canvas, edged in worsted material and having an applied crescent and star device upon each. Document case is of canvas in the form of a small roll measuring 11-1/2″ long and 3-1/4″ in dia, brass bound with a 5-point star applied to each end. CONDITION: Very good, brass furniture is uncleaned, the canvas holster fronts and document case exhibit surface staining and discoloration from age. 4-47585 CW (500-650)
