LEMAT FIRST MODEL REVOLVER. SN 397. Cal. .40 and 16ga, 6-5/8″ part oct. and 7″ round bbls. This revolver has some features not normally found on LeMat first model revolvers. The shotgun bbl/cylinder pin is not numbered and is equipped with an interrupted thread takedown device which is correct for a First Model. The plunger is guided by a dovetail slot in the side towards the bbl. Bottom of the rifle bbl apparently blew out at some time and a liner was inserted to provide a bore. There is also evidence of work at the front of the frame, possibly to tighten the joints. Grips are marked “BAGUET” inside. Screw and escutcheons are slightly coarser than the rest of those on the gun. The retaining nut on the rear of the cleaning rod is missing. Cleaning rod is serial numbered to the gun CONDITION: Rust-brown patina over all with light pitting remaining. Grips are very sharp except for tiny chips at the bottom. One of the nipples has also been replaced. 4-47492 (25,000-30,000)
