BVILHARZ, HALL & CO. MODEL 1855-TYPE CARBINE. NSN. Cal. 63, 22″ round bbl with “P” proof on left side. Rammer assembly is replaced. A name “Jn M Soumes” (?) the letters are carved imaginatively on the right side of the stock and the actual name might be different. Left side is carved “JW N S GUMBS H O R (upside down) T”. CONDITION: Heavy brown patina with heavy pitting at the breech. A large piece of wood is missing behind the hammer and a smaller piece further back. There are small cracks and chips elsewhere. Lock is good. 4-46957 FS731 (7,500-12,500)
