WINCHESTER MODEL 1890 FIRST MODEL PUMP RIFLE. Cal. 22 Short. Standard grade rifle with 24-3/8″ oct. bbl with correct bbl address (broken “D” in the word “manufactured”), fixed sights, tiny rib forearm and straight stock with crescent steel buttplate. A beautiful 1st Model. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter identifying this rifle as having been shipped on May 26th, 1891. SN 2116. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbl and magazine tube retain 96-98% strong bright original blue. Receiver, triggerguard, tangs and hammer retains about 95% original case colors, thinning on the receiver, turning silver on the top tang, stronger and brighter in the sheltered areas. Right side of the receiver slightly stronger and brighter with some very fine freckles of surface rust. Buttplate retains about 90% faded case colors. Wood is sound and retains most of an outstanding professionally restored finish. Strong dark bore. 4-47023 JR372 (6,500-8,500)
