WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38-55. Antique, standard grade rifle with 26″ oct. bbl, full magazine, slightly modified half-nickeled front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight with Lyman loop tang sight. It has uncheckered wood with straight stock and crescent steel buttplate. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum yellow sheet identifying this rifle as having been shipped April 20th, 1898. SN 38802. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbl and mag tube retain about 95-96% strong original blue with fine edge wear and a few spots of light surface rust at the muzzle. Receiver retains 92-93% strong original blue with some light flaking fading to plum on the top and bottom with bright Niter loading gate. Lever retains 75% bright case colors with the balance turned brown. Hammer retains about 98% strong dark colors. Buttplate is a silver-brown patina. Bright shiny bore with some very fine scattered discoloration. 4-47003 JR412 (2,000-3,000)
