DESIRABLE DWM 1893 BORCHARDT PISTOL WITH ORIGINAL STOCK.

SN 1105. Cal. 7.65 Borchardt. Standard configuration Borchardt, one of the first assembled by DWM, with 7-1/2″ bbl, having fixed front and rear sights. “BUG” proofs on left side of bbl and full SN on bottom where screwed into receiver. “D.R.P./No75837” on center toggle link. Knob toggle with toggle lock on right side. “BU” proofs repeated on left receiver and left side of toggle assembly. Right receiver marked “SYSTEM BORCHARDT PATENT./DEUTSCHE WAFFEN-UND MUNITIONSFABRIKEN./BERLIN.” Visible SN on gun are matching including left side of trigger, stock lug and bottom of frame. Checkered walnut grips with border are unnumbered. Magazine is closely numbered “1033” on wood base. Orig walnut stock and cheek piece are unnumbered as is correct for the Borchardts made by DWM. PROVENANCE: The Friedrich-Wilhelm Dauphin Collection – Germany. CONDITION: Pistol retains approx 75-80% orig rust blue, the balance transitioning to a mellow patina, particularly around the bbl and both grip straps. Light and seemingly recent oxidation involves a number of the small parts, including the extractor, sear, toggle lock and the cover plates on each side of the receiver. Grips with oil staining and blunted checkering, consistent with the overall condition of the pistol. Same considerations apply to the mag and the shoulder stock that shows no evidence of cleaning or enhancement. Generally bright bore with strong rifling and mild oxidation. Though the mechanics are a bit sticky, once the action has been cocked and then closed, the trigger and safety function properly. 49828-35 LMA (13,500-19,500) – Lot 1520
