CASED M1849 COLT. SN 141860 all matching, 4” bbl. 2-line NYC address, 5-shot cylinder, large brass guard, in the original walnut case lined with deep maroon velvet, with unlabeled “ELEY” cap tin, “COLTS/PATENT” brass mold, combination nipple wrench screwdriver, and brass flask embossed on both sides with stars, eagle and banner. CONDITION: Pistol complete and original. A crisp badly stored specimen with just traces of the original blue. Lightly cleaned to remove surface rust, excellent cylinder scene. Cylinder pins still intact, frame with very strong overall traces of case-hardening. Excellent silver plated straps and varnished walnut grip. Case basically very fine but possibly very professionally re-varnished (?), now with a heavy coat of furniture wax. Excellent lining. The base hinges both have a little spacer between the hinge and the base. I suspect the hinges may be old replacements. Includes key, flask with some original finish but with two fairly large dents. The rest of the accessories fine, plus. 4-46213 (2,000-3,000)
