HISTORICAL ANTIETAM GROUP. Including gold headed cane engraved (in script) “J.L.CORNET/ANTIETAM 1862″ on top. 33” wood shaft is tipped with iron on a German silver ferrule. Accompanying the cane is a framed lot of documents including Cornet’s discharge paper in 1865, with three pictures of him; one when he enlisted, one at a GAR meeting in Philadelphia and one as an older man. There is also his original Dakota Territory teacher’s certificate and a picture of his wife holding a dog. Other documents include his service record and widows pension application. There is also a fragment of blue cloth framed with the pictures and certificates. CONDITION: Head of the cane is worn. Shaft has minor chipping. Framed items are slightly soiled but good.
