CIVIL WAR PRESENTATION SWORD. 31-5/8″ dbl fuller blade by Klingenthal has foreign touch marks on right ricasso. Blade is etched on both sides. Left side has “U.S.” and two stand of flags. Right side has the banner “E. PLURIBUS UNUM” over an eagle. The upper ring carrier is marked “Presented to /Lieut. S. Richards/by Company A/129th Regt. Pa Vols”. Accompanying is Samuel Richards service record. He was mustered in 13 August 1862, he was promoted to 1st Lt. on 4 January 1863. Apparently mustered out in May of 1863. CONDITION: Blade is very good with spots of light pitting. Hilt is very good with dark patina on the brass and two tiny chips missing from the ray skin covering. Scabbard shows numerous dents on the drag. Otherwise very good with dark patina on the brass. Center carrying strap screw is replaced and the drag screw is missing. 4-46986 FS567 (4,000-5,000)
