SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1888 TRAPDOOR RIFLE. Cal. 45-70. Usual configuration with 32-1/2″ bbl, Buffington rear sight, 1884 dated breech block, 1-pc walnut stock with 1892 cartouche and stenciled rack No. “250” on the butt with ramrod bayonet. SN 542850. CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbl retains 75-80% finish turning plum, bright in the sheltered areas. Breech block retains mostly silvered case colors, lockplate 75% original finish, sound wood, usual light handling and use marks and dings. Bright shiny bore. 4-47241 JR476 (400-700)
