J. P. MURRAY CONVERSION OF 1777 CHARLEVILLE FLINTLOCK MUSKET. NSN. Cal. .75, 42-3/4″ bbl. “CityGuard” is branded into the bottom of the stock in front of the triggerguard, as per Dr. John Murphy’s Book “Confederate Rifles and Musketoons”. Conversion hammer appears to be identical to that shown on page 541 of Murphy’s book. CONDITION: Deeply pitted over all. Stock is good with minor chips around the buttplate. Nipple is smashed flat and the hammer is loose. 4-47487 (2,000-2,500)
