SMITH CIVIL WAR CARBINE. SN 4079. Cal. 52. 21-1/2″ part oct. bbl. Made by American Machine Works and has standard marks and sharp “JH” inspector cartouche. Hammer on the gun is a replacement but the original, with the broken off tumbler, accompanies. CONDITION: 50% blue overall, strongest on the triggerguard. Traces of case-hardening on the action. All metal surfaces with light surface rust and pitting. Wood is fine with numerous small dents and scratches. 4-47511 FS833 (1,500-2,500)
