*SECOND GENERATION COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER WITH FULL NICKEL FINISH.

SN 47980 SA. Cal. 357 Mag. 4-3/4″ bbl, full nickel finish, no grips. Bbl has standard 1-line address rolled on top and Colt SAA cal mark on left side. Frame has 2-line patent mark on left forward side with Rampant Colt logo without circle to the right. Trigger guard has a “VP” on forward left trigger guard bow and a “U” assembler mark on left rear trigger guard bow. Assembly number 49 stamped on loading gate and right rear of frame. SN is stamped on frame, trigger guard and backstrap. Cyl has Rampant Colt logo stamped on rear face. Cyl has 980 with a “W” stamped on front face. Revolver is accompanied by a Colt Factory Letter confirming cal, bbl length and nickel finish. Type of stocks listed as wood. Shipment was to The Wishing Well Gift Shop, U.S. Route 522, White Post, VA, September 9, 1968 in a 1 gun shipment. PROVENANCE: The Brad Shepherd Collection. CONDITION: Very fine to excellent. Bbl and ejector rod tube retains nearly all of the orig nickel finish. Bbl markings are sharp. Front sight is full size. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. Frame, trigger guard, backstrap, hammer, screws and trigger retain nearly all of the orig nickel finish. Cyl retains nearly of the orig nickel finish with a few scratches and a very slight drag mark and light scratching around the periphery. A very nice Colt 2nd Generation Single Action in a rare bbl length and finish that just needs a nice set of wood grips. 50062-48 TEP C&R (2,000-3,000) – Lot 1369
