CAMILLE CABAILLOT (France, 1839-) MOTHER NURSING CHILD.

Oil on canvas Housed in a period gesso decorated gilt frame Signed lower right “C. Cabaillot-Lassalle” Camille-Leopold was born in Paris, son of Louis Lassalle, painted & pupil of his father & of Pierre Edouard Frere. He first painted under the name Camille Lassalle, and as such exhibited at the Paris Salons of 1864 & 1865; afterward he exhibited under the name Camille-Leopold Cabaillot-Lassalle (Paris Salons of 1868 & 1869, most of the 1870’s and 1880-1882, 1886 and also the Philadelphia Exposition of 1876.
