Etching and aquatint Housed in a black and gold frame, matted under glass Signed and dated in plate lower left “Roualt”, from an edition of 450 impressions for Le Miserere, plate 49, published in 1948 NOTE: The title translates to “The nobler the heart, the less stiff the collar.” The print depicts a general with a very stiff collar that prevents him from ever looking down to see his soldiers SIZE: Plate 22-3/4″ x 16-1/2″. Overall 31″ x 24-1/2″ CONDITION: Discoloration visible in margins, possibly laid down, not examined out of frame 51310-5 (700-900) – Lot 1343
