DANISH SCHOOL (19th Century) THREE FIGURE DRAWINGS.

1) Constantin Hansen (Danish, 1804-1880) Head of an Italian Woman, Pencil on paper, Housed in a simple giltwood frame under glass, Inscribed and signed on mat “Italian..inole Const. Hansen”. 2) Wilhelm Marstrand (Danish, 1810-1873) The Proposal, Pen and ink on paper, Housed in a gold braided design frame, matted under glass, Unsigned, includes original backing with inscription in pencil “W Marstrand” with ink inscription “12.8.1928”. 3) Attributed to Christen Kobke (Danish, 1810-1848) Neapolitan Boy, Pencil on paper, Housed in a gold tone frame, matted under glass, Unsigned, includes original carboard backing with inscription that reads “Til Inge Fra Daddy. G.3.1932″. SIZE: 1) 5-1/4″ x 5″. Overall 9-1/2″ x 9″. 2) Sight 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″. Overall 10″ x 7-3/4″. 3) 5″ x 4-1/2”. Overall 8-1/2″ x 8″ PROVENANCE: Downeast Maine home, descendant of Knud Rasmussen, famous Danish arctic explorer whose “greatest achievement” was the massive Fifth Thule Expedition (1921–1924) being sold unreserved. CONDITION: 1) Good, paper affixed to mat with ink borders, minor fox mark along edge. 2) Several water stains and ink is faded, crease upper left. 3) Two small fox marks with discoloration throughout 51323-11 (500-1,000) – Lot 1298
